The West Cork podcast is coming to town for a live show

This is huge news for true crime junkies.
The first event of Cork Podcast Festival has been announced: one of Time Magazine’s 50 favourite shows, the West Cork Podcast will take the stage live at Cork Opera House on Saturday, October 12th, 2019.
The podcast guides listeners through the brutal, unsolved murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
Just days before Christmas in 1996, her broken body was discovered at the edge of her property near the town of Schull in West Cork.
With an intricate cast of characters and a provocative prime suspect, fans of the show will be able to meet the makers and hear exclusive behind-the-scenes stories with investigative journalist Sam Bungey and documentarian Jennifer Forde on stage at Cork Opera House.
“After 22 years there has finally been a criminal trial over Sophie’s murder, but it was no ordinary trial and it’s not at all clear what it will lead to.” says Bungey.
“We sat in the courtroom in Paris recently as Ian Bailey was convicted of the murder, in absentia. We’ll be talking about what that trial means, along with other developments, as we gather research for new episodes.”
Tickets €26.50 (plus booking fee) go on sale at 10am on Friday, July 12th here.
