‘One final encore’: Michelin-starred restaurant Chestnut has extended its final season

FOMO be gone.
Michelin-starred Restaurant Chestnut in Ballydehob is to remain open for an additional month, with its owners announcing a final run of dinner services in December following strong demand from diners.
The West Cork restaurant, run by chef Rob Krawczyk and Elaine Fleming, had previously announced that its final dinner service would take place on October 30th, bringing the curtain down on almost a decade at the acclaimed restaurant.
However, in a new announcement on Instagram, the Chestnut team said demand had prompted them to extend the restaurant’s final season.
“One final encore…” they shared with fans.
“It has been an amazing summer, thank you to everyone who joined us. Due to demand, we are opening up one final month for dinner as Restaurant Chestnut. December dates are now live on our website to reserve.”

The restaurant’s website now confirms that December will be the final month for this chapter of Restaurant Chestnut, with dinner being served Wednesday to Saturday.
Rooted in West Cork
Chestnut opened its doors in Ballydehob in March 2018 and was awarded a Michelin star just months later. It has retained the prestigious accolade ever since, making it one of the most enduring Michelin-starred restaurants in the country.
The announcement of the restaurant’s closure came in May, when Krawczyk and Fleming said their current season would be their last as Restaurant Chestnut after nine dinner seasons.
At the time, the couple said they were “so incredibly proud” of what they had created and stressed that their story remained rooted in West Cork.
The decision to extend the restaurant’s run means diners now have an unexpected final opportunity to experience Chestnut before this chapter comes to an end.
