You can’t beat a complimentary movie ticket.

And that’s exactly what the lovely folk at The Triskel are offering film fans to celebrate European Cinema Night on Leeside.

Cork will be one of the 54 cities across Europe taking part in the event during the first week of December and you can join Triskel on Thursday, December 5th, 2019 for the advance preview screening of the family drama Amanda, completely free of charge.

The French drama, which won director Mikhaël Hers the Magic Lantern Award at last year’s Venice Film Festival, was chosen by Chris O’Neill, Head of Cinema at Triskel, who describes it as “an unsentimental yet moving picture illustrating how a tragic incident impacts a family”.

The Cork audience at The Triskel will be seeing a preview of Amanda ahead of its cinema release in early 2020.

Before the screening, there will be a short debate where film lovers will have the opportunity to meet Tara Brady, film critic with The Irish Times, to discuss the film. A drinks reception will offer some extra time for chats afterwards.
