If you find the right piece, art can make a thoughtful and memorable Christmas gift.
Seeking out the best local artists can be a challenge for those unfamiliar with the territory however – until now, that is.
A collective of local Cork artists will be bringing their latest work to Barrack Street’s atmospheric Apple Market (the home of Neighbourfood, behind O’Sho bar at No. 13) for a two-day show and shop event on Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th, 2019.
You can browse the work of some of Cork’s best known creatives, including John Flynn, in your own time, with paintings and textiles available for purchase throughout the weekend – just in time for Christmas.
Crafters will also be setting up stalls, with handmade ceramics, books and jewellery also on offer, so you might find something special for yourself too.
Live music, tasty food and hot teas and coffees will ensure a festive atmosphere and you can pop in between 10am and 7pm on Saturday and 11am and 5pm on Sunday.
“This is what this Cork community is all about, coming together and putting on one hell of a show for ya!” tweeted John Flynn, who will be bringing a range of work, old and new to the market, including a selection of prints from ‘Fota’, ‘The 32’, #Inktobers, and his magnificent hand-painted hurley series ‘Irelands Ancients’.
