The Shamrock Shake is back: Fan favourite returns to McDonald’s across Cork

It wouldn’t be spring without it.
The Shamrock Shake is back, with the McDonald’s fan favourite returning to Irish stores in time for St Patrick’s Day.
The iconic drink is back in restaurants across Cork just in time for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. It’s available for a limited time only until March 18th.
If you’ve never indulged, the limited-edition shake is full of creamy vanilla soft serve, blended with delicious Shamrock Shake flavouring.
You can pick up the sweet treat in McDonald’s restaurants across Ireland for dine-in and walk-in takeaway, as well as being available at McDonald’s Drive Thru while stocks last.
In case you’re interested, The Shamrock Shake was first invented in Chicago in 1970. By 1973, McDonald’s had dumped the original lemon/lime sherbet flavour and replaced it with a simple green-coloured vanilla shake. These days it’s the only McDonald’s shake with a mint flavour.
Keep in mind, however; a large Shamrock Shake will set you up with roughly 488 calories so order a small if you’re planning on making it a regular treat.
The February menu also features a Breakfast Wrap (pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato rosti and cheese served in a tortilla wrap with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce) and a range of pink-themed desserts including the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry, the KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry and the Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie.
