It was brilliant quack last year.
Now Timoleague’s rubber ducks are returning to the West Cork village for another challenge, with a Duck Race billed for Saturday, July 24th.
The fundraiser raises funds for the town’s pontoon, with ducks available to sponsor for a fiver each. Once the race begins, you can follow watch the ducks bob along the water, with prizes for the winners.
This year’s event will run from 6pm to 7.30pm on the 24th, with the big race starting at 7pm on the Timoleague pontoon.

“Racecards are being sold this weekend, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th and again next weekend on 23rd and 24th, throughout the day at Centra, The Abbey Bar and down by the waterfront.” the organisers, Timoleague Tidy Towns, announced on social media.
“All tables will be outside in line with Covid 19 guidelines. Remember all funds from the duck race will be to keep the amazing facility of the pontoon open and will help towards costs such as insurance, fuel, and maintenance of tools, paint.”
Who knows, this might be the year your duck comes in.
