The Polar Express is coming to Clonakilty (with autism-friendly events set for two dates)

All aboard…
There are things you do for the kids because you know it will make them happy and there are things you do with the kids because they are just so fun.
This is one of the latter.
Clonakilty is going full steam ahead with the help of Santa and his hard-working elves as the Model Railway Village is transformed into an enchanting indoor and outdoor Christmas experience for all the fam.
The famous railway train is currently in the process of being transformed with magical lights and filled with presents for the kids in advance of their visit to The Polar Express, opening on Friday, November 26th, 2021.
Here’s what you can expect: Families will be welcomed aboard the train by Santa’s little helpers. In the first carriage, everyone will enjoy a 15-minute show before meeting the main man himself in the VIP carriage. Here, kids will get to tell Santa exactly what’s on their Christmas wish list, talk all things festive and a pose for a photo.
After you disembark, each family will then be provided with a special interactive UV torch to explore and discover the elves’ living quarters, while helping them in the search for Santa’s reindeer, Dasher, who has an awful habit of wandering off whenever he chooses.
As night falls, you can close out your journey through the enchanted Model Village by exploring the miniature Cork towns by twilight, to make a wish and snap another unforgettable family photo.
