Olan Crowley’s new Bean & Berry Café in Garretstown is finally open, taking over the scenic spot formerly occupied by the Blue Horizon, a popular guest house that stood there since the 1980s.
Inside, a welcoming wooden coffee counter is waiting with your choice of Red Strand Coffee and the grey walls, exposed beams, purple industrial seating, and vintage-inspired lighting make it a cosy place to enjoy a brew… whether it’s glorious out or lashing rain.
Outside there are plenty of picnic tables arranged to make the most of the breathtaking ocean views over Courtmacsherry Bay, Garrettstown, and Garrylucas Beaches as well as The Old Head Of Kinsale.
There are some new treats to try too, with new healthy breakfast and brunch bowls on offer along with an expanded menu.
“Was there at the weekend, sat on one of the many outdoor picnic benches with my dog, and had a lovely toastie and coffee. Will defo return,” said Sara McCarthy.
Deirdre Ringrose praised the “fantastic food and lovely staff”, while Nollaig Previs complimented the team on the “delicious food and great atmosphere.”
The Eircode P17 AK65 will get you there and the Bean & Berry Café is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4:30pm.
