The lush and leafy Cork café where you can dine under a pomegranate tree

We might not make it to the Mediterranean this year.
But if you’re craving a long lunch in a balmy garden, one Cork garden centre has created a magical setting for a summer meal alfresco.
The Pavilion Garden Centre in Ballygarvan has opened an Outdoor Dining Glasshouse where you can enjoy a meal among the lush greenery and blossoming blooms, no matter what the dodgy Irish weather is up to.

You can make a reservation to sample their mouthwatering new summer menu in the shade of a stunning pomegranate tree, which is just coming into flower before it fruits later in the summer, or find a spot for coffee and cake beneath the branches of an olive.
Either way, the place is Instagram gold and a brilliant surprise location for a special birthday or celebration.
Add a mimosa or an Aperol spritz (there’s a lovely wine list too) and be transported to the countryside of Puglia or a Bordeaux terrace, if only for a couple of hours.
Reservations are available from 9am to 4pm and Sundays from 10.30am.
