The best prison movie of all time will be screened inside Cork City Gaol in April
This will be one to remember.
Two epic prison-themed movies will be screened inside Cork’s atmospheric old city jail this easter.
Scenic Cinema’s Easter Escape takes place at Cork City Gaol on Easter Monday, April 10th, offering movie fans the chance to watch Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Shawshank Redemption during two showings.
“Grab the family or that Potter addict in your life to see one of the best Harry movies at 6.30pm, and then join us for a special screening of The Shawshank Redemption, in an old jail setting that will transport you straight into the heart of the movie at 9.45pm,” they told us.
“Experience the eerie atmosphere and authentic setting of the historic prison as you watch one of the greatest films of all time.”

Tickets (kids €10, adults €15.50) are available here. VIP seating options are also available along with treats to enjoy with the movie.
Guests are advised to arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to screening time and dress appropriately (it may be chilly). You’re welcome to bring blankets and cushions to make your seat comfier too.
