Fond of the black stuff? You can try a ‘chocolatey’ new stout at this city bar
Early reviews are positive.
BrewDog launched its latest offering, Black Heart Stout, at its Cork bar on Washington Street last night, revealing the new beverage to customers three weeks before Paddy’s Day.
Black Heart is described as “a no-nonsense, Irish style, classic stout, brewed in this century that gives stout drinkers a bold new choice.”
It might not sway you from your usual Murphy’s or creamy Beamy but hey, variety is the spice of life.
Describing the flavour profile of Black Heart Stout, the makers say chocolate and extra dark crystal malts “give layers of roasted, toasted coffee and cocoa, with a hint of caramel, teaching an old dog, new tricks.”
Speaking about the launch, BrewDog’s Global Beer Trainer Paddy Gardiner said Leesiders are big stout drinkers, so the brand wanted to offer them something different:
“This is a beer for everyone… but especially those people who might think stout is only for drinking on St Patrick’s Day. We’ve spent a long-time perfecting this – and we reckon you just might think it’s better,” he said.
Only one way to find out, right?
