Temperatures plummet to -3 as Met Éireann forecast sharp frost and icy stretches

We’ve been feeling the chill in Cork this week.
And forecasters say we can expect further frosty conditions over the next 24 hours, with temperatures set to plummet as low as -3 tonight.
Met Éireann predict a cold, frosty start this morning, with a mix of scattered showers and sunny spells.
“Later in the day it will become largely dry. Feeling cold in highest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees and fresh and gusty westerly winds, strong in coastal areas.” said a forecaster.
“Cloud will increase from the west towards dawn. Calm, with winds falling light and variable, becoming southerly near dawn. Lowest temperatures of -3 to +1 degrees with a sharp frost setting in and some icy stretches forming.”
