Furnishing a house or apartment is not cheap.

But if you’d like to achieve a certain style without spending a month’s rent or a mortgage payment on decor, an upcoming DIY class will show you how it’s done.

Delivered by upcycling expert Joanne Condon, author of Furniture Crush, a Cork City Upcycling Workshop will take place on Sunday, September 25th, 2022 from 10am until 5pm at Cork County Cricket Club on the Mardyke.

Perfect for anyone attempting to get (or stay) on the property ladder right now, participants will learn how to source, prepare, and prime furniture, how to paint and what paint to use as well as a variety of techniques such as applying wallpaper, transferring fonts, geometric designs, gold leaf, distressing and whitewashing.

Joanne will teach you all you need to know to transfer your new skills to bigger projects at home.

Everything is supplied (all you need to bring is a packed lunch) and you will receive a small piece of furniture to work on along with a detailed booklet containing all the instructions you learned throughout the day.

An apron will be provided but you may still get paint on your clothes so dress accordingly. Tickets are €167 here.
