Stop everything. This café’s French toast just won autumn.

It’s not all about pumpkin lattes, you know.
In fact, if you ask us; the real flavour of autumn is probably more akin to ripe fallen apples than pumpkin spice.
In any case, OHK Cafe in Kinsale have whipped up the quintessential treat for this time of year… and it’s worth planning a spin to the seaside for.
Behold; the OHK Cafe Lost Bread + Stolen Apples French toast.

Last weekend’s special, the brunch dish of our dreams involves caramelised apples, sweet Toonsbridge ricotta, runny honey and toasted hazelnuts.
The name is inspired by the French for French toast; pain perdu, which literally means “lost bread”, referring to the fact that this dish employs stale bread that would otherwise be lost.
The cafe closes on Wednesdays for winter but drop by Thursday- Tuesday, 9am -3pm and Sundays 10am-4pm.
And don’t forget to check out the stunning autumn chandelier made of local flowers plucked from Howe Hill Flower Farm in nearby Kilbrittain.
