Silent Candlelight Vigil planned in memory of two men who died in Cork Ironman tragedy

The local community is in shock.
But the people of Youghal will come together on Thursday to hold a Silent Candlelight Vigil for the bereaved families of the two athletes who lost their lives while competing in the Iron Man competition on Sunday.
The men, Brendan Wall (44), who is originally from Meath but who had been living in Solihull in the UK, and Ivan Chittendon (65), who is from Toronto in Canada, had travelled to the seaside town to take part in the event.
Both died while competing in the swimming event on Sunday morning.

Members of the public are invited to bring a candle or torch light to Green Park in Youghal on Thursday, August 24th, 2023 at 7pm for a silent tribute.
