Seafood fans rave about the epic fish dishes at this rolling restaurant

There’s nothing like good seafood by the sea.
And in one of Cork’s smallest fishing villages, one rolling restaurant consistently enjoys rave reviews from foodies who are after more than a chipper-standard battered cod.
Now open every weekend at The Blackbird bar in Ballycotton, Trawlerboyz are wowing hungry customers with a selection of creative seafood dishes… all ideal for ticking into with a pint or a crisp glass of white wine.
Naturally, they do a mean fish and chips, freshly coated and fried to perfection with a homemade tartar sauce for dipping and a hearty scoop of fries.
Then there’s the mussels; doused in white wine sauce and served in big steaming bowls with a hunk of sourdough for mopping up the last drops.

The seafood chowder is fresh and authentic, ideal for a lunch stop after a stroll on the cliffs just down the road.
If you like your seafood spicy, they’ll also do you a box of tempura prawns and flash-friend calamari with a sweet chilli dip – one of the tastiest summer suppers around at a very reasonable tenner.
Trawlerboyz are serving at the Blackbird on Fridays, 4:30pm-8:30pm, Saturdays 1pm-8:30pm and Sundays 1pm-7:30pm.
