Ryanair pilots are to strike on July 12th

It’s not the best timing.
As Irish holidaymakers pack their cases for the big getaway, Ryanair has confirmed that its pilots have voted to strike on Thursday, July 12th.
According to reports, the majority of Ryanair’s 100 pilots voted in favour of strike action this afternoon, sending travel plans for one of the busiest travel months into chaos.
The strike will go ahead because of a row over leave entitlements.
Pilots are demanding that employees who have served the airline the longest should get first refusal on annual leave, promotions and transfers.
A statement released by the Irish Airline Pilots Association confirmed that the 24-hour strike will begin at 1am on Thursday, July 12th, 2018, with additional strike days to be announced ‘in due course.
