Red or white? Here’s where you’ll find the fanciest glass of mulled wine this Christmas

It’s the aroma of Christmas in a cup.
You can’t beat a warming mulled wine for instant Christmas cheer, but if you’re a discerning wine drinker, you might find the average pub’s recipe a bit on the bland side.
This year, however, there’s a treat in store for connoisseurs over in the VQ (the area formerly known as the Victorian Quarter).
MacCurtain Wine Cellar is celebrating its first Christmas with a delicious pair of mulled wines, available in white or red varieties.
“It’s mulled wine season and it’s also freezing out there.” owners Trudy Ahern and Sean Gargano announced on Instagram.

“We have our signature Red or White Mulled Wine ready for you. Seán has tweaked this recipe to perfection over the years. Made with fresh herbs and spices, fruit, and great wine of course.
“To get everyone in the festive season, we also have amazing mince pies from our friends The Grumpy Bakers.”
The family-run independent wine shop, which doubles as a wine bar in the evenings, will be serving its hot wines and mince pieces (dollop of fresh cream optional) from Wednesday-Saturday, 12pm -9.30pm and Sunday 2pm-9pm.
