Pro baristas descend on Cork for the ultimate coffee brewing showdown
Plungers at the ready.
Coffee aficionados from all over the country will be flocking to Cork at the end of the month for the ultimate showdown of coffee brewing skills.
The 2025 Irish Aeropress Championships will be presented by Cork coffee connoisseurs Badger and Dodo at Bakestone Cafe on Perry Street, Cork City on Friday, August 29th, 2025.
“Each year we work to make this event the best event in the Irish Specialty Coffee calendar, and this year is no different.” the organisers announced.
“Being that we are from Cork, we have wanted to host the event in Cork City for a while, and this year, it’s all happening.”

Spectators will enjoy a party atmosphere, with beer, drinks, a DJ, food, loads of coffee and surprises all evening from 6pm to 11pm.
This year the winner gets a selection of coffee-related goodies as well as flights and accommodation for three days to represent Ireland in the World Aeropress Championships in Seoul South Korea later this year.
“We took surveys from contestants and spectators alike, and we listened. So this year there will be loads more swag for the contestants, and more give aways for the spectators.” they added.
