Poetry Healing in the Dark is a meditation class where teenagers can unwind

Looking for that Friday feeling?
A youth organisation in Cork’s Northside is offering a soothing relaxation session called Poetry Healing in the Dark to local teenagers every Friday.
Thanks to funding from Léargas Ireland, a not-for-profit organisation that connects people in different communities and countries, The Kabin Studio has been able to introduce a meditation class combining poetry, stretching and breathing and that traditional cure-all; tea, to help young people unwind ahead of the weekend.

The Poetry Healing evening adds another event to the schedule at the Kabin, on Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny, where local teenagers can also access music workshops, recording facilities for producing original songs, and a community vegetable garden in a neglected urban setting surrounded by social housing.
A packed schedule of weekly Music Generation Cork City workshops in rap, music production and podcasting led by Garry McCarthy (GMCBeats) and playwriting classes with Graffiti Theatre is available for a donation of €2 (you can check those out here).
Poetry Healing in the Dark takes place every Friday at 7pm at The Kabin Studio. The class is free but booking is essential. To reserve a place, text 083 488 1346.
