Pick your own Halloween pumpkin at The Field of Dreams Harvest Festival

Fact: Autumn is the best season for a little outdoor fun.
Now there’s a chance to make some Halloween memories with the family while helping out a brilliant Cork charity; The Field of Dreams is opening its very own pumpkin patch this weekend.
Located on The Clash Road, Curraheen, Field of Dreams is a horticulture-based training centre for adults with Down Syndrome. Over the past few months, the team has been hard at work growing some of the best specimens to be had in the city.
Now they’re fully ripe and ready to go, it’s time for a harvest party.
The lovely grounds will be opening up to the public for the day on Sunday, October 27th, 2019 so visitors can drop in and pick their very own Halloween pumpkin to take home.
Once you have picked your pumpkin, you can explore the themed market garden, sensory garden and orchard garden, visit the polytunnels, meet the resident sheep and chickens and relax with a coffee or hot chocolate and a fresh muffin in the central courtyard.
Ready to hit Cork’s pumpkin patch?
Tickets are a bargain €10 (available now here) but they’re selling fast and there are limited sessions remaining so get booking.
All ticket holders get to pick their own pumpkin, with the help of the Field of Dreams horticultural team Nicky, Mike and Mary and there’ll be face painting, music and a prize for the best fancy dress costume.
Sounds like a Halloween howl.
