Can’t wait until May 17th for a Penneys splurge?

Customers can now book an appointment to shop in any Penneys store next week exclusively through its online booking system, which opened at 10am this morning.

A virtual queue is in operation, with a wait-time of around one hour for the most determined shoppers.

Every ‘Shop by Appointment’ time slot lasts for 60 minutes, with 45 minutes of shopping time and 15 minutes for paying and exiting the store, and each slot is valid for one person only.

With limited numbers allowed in Cork shops, appointments are expected to book out quickly, but anyone disappointed won’t have to wait much longer; all Penneys stores will re-open fully on Monday, May 17th.

“We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to Penneys; we’ve really missed our customers and fantastic retail teams, so it feels great to finally reopen our doors.” said Penneys CEO, Paul Marchant.

“Safety remains at the front of our minds. We have extended opening hours across all our stores to help meet demand safely but we’re also asking our customers to keep up the support and spirit they showed last year, particularly if queuing outside or in-store.”
