Met Éireann says there’s a ‘much milder’ weekend in store for Cork (before a week of heavy rain)

There’s a week of wet weather ahead.
But Met Éireann says we can look forward to a warm Friday and a sunny Saturday before the deluge begins.
“Low pressure will dominate our weather in the days ahead. This will bring generally unsettled conditions, with widespread heavy showers but also slightly milder weather.” said the national forecaster.
In the meantime, it will remain dry for much of today with sunny spells early on before cloud begins to build through the afternoon with rain pushing into southwestern coastal areas this evening.
Highest temperatures will range between 11 to 14 degrees.
It will be wet and windy tonight as rain on southwest coasts spreads over Munster and becomes heavy, but temperatures will remain mild after dark, at around 7C.

“Any lingering rain will clear early on Saturday morning to leave quite a bright day with a mix of scattered showers and sunny spells.” said a forecaster.
Looks like we can expect “a much milder day than recently with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, coolest in southwestern coastal areas in moderate southwesterly winds.”
Sunday will be a blustery day with widespread showers turning and a risk of hail, with more unsettled weather forecast for the first part of next week.
