Pack a deck chair and a picnic; Swing in the Park is three days of al fresco fun

When was the last time you spent an entire day in the great outdoors?
An upcoming series of events is inviting you to do just that, laying on three dates of family-friendly fun in Fitzgerald’s Park.
Swing in the Park takes over the park’s main Pavillion Stage on three Saturdays this summer, the next instalments happening on August 17th and September 7th, with an afternoon of free live music and dancing each day from 1pm to 3pm.
Everyone’s encouraged to bring deck chairs, blankets and picnics to set up on the grass beforehand, then kick back in one of the city’s prettiest green spaces to soak up the atmosphere.
You can even bring the dog.
Produced by Marguerite O’Connor in conjunction with Cork City Council, as part of their Summer in the Park programme, Swing in the Park will feature the Cork Singers Collective, as well as the Loungeman and some of Cork’s best musicians, who will play a mix of classics and modern twists on swing, jazz, soul and even some rock songs throughout the summer.
