‘Overwhelmed’ Cork dog shelter appeals for urgent pet food donations to keep going

You can pick up a tin in Aldi or Lidl for less than 60c.
But every little helps when it comes to feeding the constant influx of unwanted, neglected, and abused animals that arrive into the care of Cork Dog Action Welfare each day.
This week, things are so stretched at the charity that they have reached out to the local group St Vincent de Paws for help.
“Cork Dawg are overwhelmed with dogs at present and got in touch with us to ask for food.” a group spokesperson said.
“They need wet dog food (tins and pouches) and puppy formula also. We have drop-off bins at the following locations if anyone would like to help:
- The Spaw in Douglas
- Bec’s Pets – Fermoy in Fermoy
- Glanmire Pet Shop in Glanmire
- Macroom Pet Shop in Macroom
- The Potty Fish Shop in Bandon
- Morgans Daybreak in Togher
- Pets Plus – North Point Blackpool in Blackpool
- Pets Plus – Fermoy in Fermoy
- Pets Plus in Cobh
- Muddy Puppy Grooming Salon in Midelton
- Clip & Dip Pet Salon Mallow in Mallow
- Fairy Tails Grooming Kanturk in Kanturk
- Pet Essentials in Carrigaline
- Julie Curtin’s Dog Grooming And Dog Accessories in Churchfield
“Alternatively, you can always phone the above pet stores and buy wet dog food or puppy formula as well. We can also collect from you guys,” they added.
You can text St Vincent de Paws on 085 185 1774 if you have donations for collection.
