One of Cork’s most talented origami artists is hosting workshops for kids and adults

It’s essentially mindfulness for fidgeters.
Cork’s origami maestro, Sachiko Kobayashi, will lead a workshop that promises to be both creative and inspiring in the city this weekend, with sessions for kids and grown-ups eager to learn.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7th, from 11 am to 1 pm, and head on over to the beautiful Dance Cork Firkin Crane for a historical twist on this ancient art form.
“Autumn is a great time to get creative with friends and family,” they told us.
“Using creativity to make decorations with our own hands will help reduce wastage in an age of overconsumption of resources and materials; especially during the upcoming festive season.”

The best bit is that all proceeds will go towards SERVE, a local charity working in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and India providing education and employment skills, entrepreneurship opportunities, community development and
access to wheelchairs.
There are separate sessions for children aged seven years and older (11am to 12pm) and adults (12pm to 1pm). All children must be with their guardian at all times during the sessions.
Tickets are between €10 to €15 here.
