One of Cork’s best bakeries is now open every day of the week

Here’s some news we can get on board with.
One of Cork’s most beloved bakeries is going all out for 2023 by opening its doors every day of the week.
Cameron Bakery’s cafés in Parnell Place and Blackrock will be serving their mouthwatering selection of pastries and baked goods from 8am to 5pm daily, so you need never be without a coffee and humongous almond croissant (they make the best in Cork).
In even more excellent news, they’re also kicking off the New Year with a special seasonal cake:
“With the arrival of January comes an obsession with the galette des rois – the king cake a 700-year-old French tradition!” Hon. Consul of France in Cork, Josselin Le Gall announced on Instagram.
A sweet almond-flavoured custard-stuffed delight, it’s traditionally served on the 12th day of Christmas, January 6th, to celebrate the Ephiphany.

In French households, you’ll often find a fève, or a bean, baked into the galette des rois. Whoever gets the bean gets to be king or queen for the day.
