Everything you need to know about when to watch Cork athletes compete in Tokyo

They might be a year late, but the Olympics are finally here.
After a yearlong postponement due to Covid, some of Ireland’s – and more importantly, Cork’s – finest athletes have the chance to bring home the gold from Tokyo.
Cork’s Olympians will be competing across a range of events, and you’d want to be either staying up late or getting up early to catch them all.
Paul O’Donovan, one-half of the O’Donovan Brothers who famously brought home silver from Rio in 2016, will be rowing this year alongside Fintan McCarthy in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls (his brother Gary is the reserve). The pair will begin their quest for gold tomorrow (July 24th), with their heat taking place between 3.20am and 3.40am Ireland time.
At the same time, Cork’s Ronan Byrne will be competing in the Men’s Double Sculls heat.
Also in rowing, Sanita Puspure has already dominated her heat, and is through to the quarter finals of the Women’s Single Sculls, which will take place on July 26th between 1am and 1.40am.
All times listed below are Rebel County time: Other showings will depend on whether or not the Olympians can qualify past these initial rounds.
