Oktoberfeis is coming to Cork with an Irish take on the Bavarian beer festival

This sounds like mighty craic.
A new festival combining the best of boozy Bavarian revelry with Irish traditions is rolling into Cork this autumn.
Oktoberfeis, a Gaelic twist on the world-renowned Oktoberfest, is bringing a raucous celebration of Irish music, food, and culture, to ten locations across Ireland, with Leeside dates at the Rochestown Park Hotel in September and West Cork’s Parkway Hotel in October.
It essentially sounds like a Paddy’s Day party, but bigger, wilder, and happening in September.
Popular musicians including Whistlin’ Donkeys, George Murphy and The Rising Sons and Rake the Ashes have already been confirmed and the organisers say attendees can also expect “DJs and dancers, authentic Irish food stalls, roving performers, and an eclectic mix of entertainment and competitions across the evening”.
‘This new festival idea was inspired by the legendary Munich Oktoberfest.” said founder Craig Reynolds.
“We will capture what is most loved about the iconic German festival while adding an authentic Irish twist throughout.”
The Cork dates are:
- Rochestown Park Hotel – Saturday, September 30th
- West Cork, Parkway Hotel – Saturday, October 21st
Tickets start at €25 here.
