A sweet new sensory garden is now open in Glounthaune

A new garden is in full bloom in Glounthaune.
Cork County Council representatives were enjoying the June sunshine yesterday as they unveiled a new sensory garden at Craig’s Field.
Sensory gardens provide countless benefits for individuals of all ages and abilities but are especially fun for children.
Clever planting stimulates the senses, inviting kids to explore, touch, smell, and even taste nature, promoting relaxation, lowering stress levels, and improving well-being.
Therapeutic experiences in the outdoors have also been shown to enhance cognitive abilities, foster sensory development, and encourage connection.
The Glounthaune project is a collaboration between Cork County Council and Glounthaune Community Association, supported by the Disability Participation and Awareness Fund.
Designed and developed by the Council, the site will be maintained by the Community Association and will complement the adjacent playground, walkway, and outdoor gym.
