We’re big fans of Oak Fire pizza around here.
Now the homegrown pizzeria will be bringing their lush locally-sourced toppings to a new neighbourhood; Oak Fire Pizza has just announced it will be opening a new store on Gillabbey Street, off College Road, in mid-December.
The new spot, home of the new Tom Durcan Spiced Beef Pizza, will create up to 10 new jobs locally, with positions for pizza chefs, floor staff, drivers and prep chefs.
With a growing demand for wood-fired pies, owners Andrew Loane and Tayfur Türkan opened their first restaurant in Clonakilty in 2015 and the business has seen significant growth since then with the opening of two new locations in Bandon and Cork city between 2017-2018.
The Gillabbey Street store will be the brand’s fourth location on Leeside.
“There’s no big secret to what we do, we have the best ingredients being used by the best people,” says Andrew.
“The skill and passion of each member of the Oak Fire Pizza family is amazing and really is key to our success.”
Oak Fire Pizza has invested in adapting its restaurants and re-training all staff to be in line with HSE regulations and the Failte Ireland Safety Charter.
This has allowed continued trading throughout this pandemic which included the “Eat on the Street” initiative on Princes Street in Cork city and a takeaway and delivery service in Cork, Bandon and Clonakilty.
