Now you can take a wildlife drawing class INSIDE Fota Wildlife Park

This could be your wild new hobby.
A Cork artist is hosting a six-week wildlife drawing class for adults this spring… and it all happens inside the grounds of Fota Wildlife Park.
Students in John Flynn’s unique WILD Life Drawing group will work exclusively in the great outdoors, studying some of the world’s most fascinating and often endangered animal species up close.
As well as learning basic skills including observation, shape building, anatomy, movement, light and shadow, the group will also be guided in how to develop a free and unpredictable artwork style all of their own.
“The aim of the course is to bring a new life and challenges to life drawing with the inclusion of wild animals,” says John.
“The course will tease artists out of their comfort zones by trying to capture the ‘moment’ with animals constantly moving and in their own environment. To really study these animals, to look past the idea of animals on display and to look at their characters, behaviour, movements, shapes and anatomy.”
The six-week class will run for two hours on Friday mornings at 10am from April 24th – May 29th, 2020. Students will be required to dress appropriately for the weather. To book your place (€120 for six weeks) call 021 481 2678 (ext 210) or email bookings@fotawildlife.ie.
