Now you can start your date night with a free evening tour of the Crawford Art Gallery

This is the job if you work days or weekends.
If getting into town for lunchtime or Saturday events is tricky, the Crawford Art Gallery has tailored the timing of their latest series of free tours just for you.
The gallery has announced new evening ‘Tours on Thursday’ at 6.30pm, in a move they hope will help bridge the gap between the daytime and night time economy in the city.
“The ‘Tours on Thursday’ are planned for 6.30pm, offering an alternative to people heading out after work or those who want to do something on the way home and also potentially as a kind of pre-dinner or theatre event.” said the Crawford’s Marketing & Communications Manager Dyane Hanrahan.
“We know it will appeal to a broad range of visitors and we are hoping it might even be a nice ice breaker for a date!”
Ideal if you’d like to appear cultured and worldly without having to do any research beforehand.
“The tours are given by very experienced guides who are really passionate about introducing the artworks to new visitors or to repeat visitors who want to see the new temporary exhibitions.”
The Tours on Thursday will be different every week, offering fascinating insights, information and the stories behind the artworks and the artists who created them, so you could even make it a regular treat.
Spaces on the tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with no pre-booking necessary and will complement the existing Sunday and Bank Holiday tours happening at 2pm since May.
The Crawford Art Gallery is open late until 8pm every Thursday so you can wander in at your leisure for a look too.
