New York folk singer Honeybabe is playing a gig at a landmark building in Fermoy

The Richmond Revival continues.
And now the folks behind the restoration of Fermoy’s beautiful Richmond House have announced an upcoming gig as part of their efforts to breathe life into the period property.
The house, bought by Debbie and Fiachra Ó Cinnéide in 2020, facilitates a variety of arts events and educational activities, and aims to become a hub for the local creative community and beyond.
It sits on around seven acres of land, just a fraction of the original estate, an oasis surrounded by urban and residential development.
This Saturday, January 20th, music fans can pile in to catch New York folk singer Honeybabe, who will be visiting from her base in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Self-classified as avant-folk/singer-songwriter, her sound and influences span an array of decades and genres from 1920s jazz to 90s hip hop to classic rock to classical to electronic to world to soul and much more.” the organisers said.
“There is limited guest accommodation for those wishing to make a weekend of a visit.”
Since opening their doors to the public in October of 2020, the family has successfully hosted and organised a variety of cultural and educational events ranging from events such as The Fermoy Farmer’s Market, The Fermoy Arts Music Festival, The Fermoy Christmas Craft Fairs and open garden tours for Heritage Week as well as a community apple picking day last September.
The Walker Suite at Richmond Revival (named after the Jonny Walker Whiskey family) serves as an intimate 50-seater venue for poetry recitals, and an art gallery space,
Tickets for the gig, which starts at 8pm, are €13.20 here. Email info@therichmondrevival.com for more details if you’d like to stay the night,
