New venue The Village Rooms, Bar and Kitchen opens in Douglas in July
A major transformation is underway.
The former Douglas bar The East Village, which closed in January, is getting ready to reopen under the new name The Village Rooms, Bar and Kitchen this summer.
The pub and eatery operated as a successful late night bar for two decades before shutting its doors at the start of 2025 when the owners announced that the business was about to change hands.
A renovation including a complete overhaul of the premises was teased at the time and now it looks like we might be seeing the results of the project as soon as next month.

“The Village Rooms, Bar and Kitchen will bring a multi-use venue with sophistication. Reimagining the previous East Village under new ownership.” the management team announced.
“The venue is currently under complete remodelling and opens mid-July.” they added, confirming that the building will have all-new interiors, food, drinks, live music, and event spaces.
“We’re so excited to share all our progress – keep an eye out for our official opening party.”
