Mild and Drizzly: Here’s a look at the Valentine’s weekend weather for Cork

Don’t forget your umbrella.
Met Éireann says it’ll be wet and blustery this morning with rain, heavy at times and spot flooding possible in the south.
“The rain will clear northeastwards through the morning with sunny spells developing as moderate to fresh southeast winds ease. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 or 13 degrees.” said a forecaster.
“Rather cloudy tonight but mostly dry with just a few spots of light rain or drizzle possible. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.”
What about the weekend?
Saturday will be drizzly but mild with temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, while Saturday night will bring persistent rain with the possibility of some spot flooding. Temperatures will dip between 2°C and 7°C, with moderate east or southeast winds keeping things breezy.
Come Sunday, rain will stick around in the southwestern half of the country but will ease up by the afternoon, giving way to some dry spells and a few hazy sun breaks. For most of the rest of us, it’s a largely cloudy day with patches of rain and drizzle at times. Highs will range from 5°C to 9°C.
By Sunday night, the weather takes a turn for more rain, with light drizzle at first, followed by more persistent and heavier showers rolling in from the west. Expect temperatures to stay between 3°C and 8°C.
As we move into Monday, we’re looking at a full-on wet day with widespread, sometimes heavy rain.
It’s probably best to plan for some indoor activities this weekend. But on the plus side, the milder temperatures are a welcome change.
