Mick Flannery performed a magical gig live from the Crawford Art Gallery last night

What a setting.
Mick Flannery and played a captivating live gig among the sculptures in Cork’s Crawford Art Gallery last night, filling the tranquil halls of the building with a haunting set alongside SON (Susan O’Neill).
The only audience in attendance was the Crawford Art Gallery’s historic collection of Canova Casts, as the performers, joined by guitarist Alan Commerford, live-streamed the gig as part of the Other Voices: Courage series.
Supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, IMRO and RTÉ, the set has already been watched thousands of times by viewers all over the world on YouTube.
Flannery’s live album, ‘Alive’, which was recorded at the Cork Opera House, will be released this week (you can pre-order it here). The artist is kindly donating all funds raised in sales to his crew after they were left without work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
