Met Éireann says it’s going to be considerably warmer this week (but also very wet)

It’s not ideal, really.
If you’ve been feeling a little chilly outside over the weekend, Met Éireann has confirmed that we should be experiencing a decent boost in temperature in Cork this week.
Sadly the forecast highs of up to 22C will be accompanied by frequent heavy downpours, drizzle and thunderstorms.
Today, Monday, will be cloudy with isolated outbreaks of rain and drizzle and highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees.
Tuesday will be another mostly cloudy day with light patchy rain and drizzle, along with some isolated bright spells and highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.
How’s it looking for the rest of the week?
Well, Wednesday will be cloudy with showers developing through late morning and into the afternoon: “Showers may turn heavy at times. Feeling milder too with highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees, in moderate southerly winds.” said a forecaster.
The showers will continue through Wednesday night with the continued chance of heavy bursts and it will be mild after dark with temperatures not falling below 13 to 15 degrees.
Heavy showers will likely continue through Thursday with the chance of some thunderstorms although the rai will clear to spells of sunshine by evening with highest temperatures of up to 22 degrees.
Further outbreaks of heavy showers are expected on Friday and low pressure looks set to dominate the weather with frequent showers over the weekend.
