So, the weather might not be frightful.
Met Éireann has delivered some cheery news for anyone hoping to spend some time wandering Cork’s many Christmas markets this weekend.
The national forecaster is predicting “a fair amount of dry weather” for the weekend, and while there will be some rain or showers at times, it will be a little milder too.
As it stands, Saturday will be a “mild, breezy and mostly cloudy day” with a fair amount of dry weather and just some patchy rain or drizzle at times. Highest temperatures will be between 10 and 12 degrees with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
Sunday will be mainly dry and breezy by day, so there should be plenty of opportunity to enjoy some outdoor fun before sundown:
“It will become increasingly cloudy and blustery and rain will move in from the west in the evening.” added the forecasters.
“Highest temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees with freshening southerly winds. On Sunday night, rain will spread eastwards across the country becoming heavy at times.”
