Love it or loathe it, the news is out.

Christmas has officially arrived in Cork — at least on Level Two of Brown Thomas.

Despite the calendar still reading August, the store has unwrapped its annual Christmas Shop, sparking the usual chorus of “it gets earlier every year!”

For die-hard festive fans, though, it’s a chance to dive headfirst into the tinsel and start plotting the perfect season a full four months in advance.

For those who like their Christmas served up to them in the dead of winter and no sooner, avoid the escalator on the ground floor of BT or be whisked upwards into a cinnamon-scented cloud of nostalgia.

“Introducing the ultimate decorating destination for Christmas. Shop trees, decorations, lights, garlands and wreaths all in the one place.” the Brown Thomas team announced gleefully on social media.
