Cork Weather: Dry and cloudy for the weekend with rain on the way next week

By Yay Cork August 22, 2025

It’s set to be a largely dry end to the week.

Although cloud cover will keep sunshine limited for much of the weekend across Cork, Met Éireann says that today will be mostly dry with just a few isolated light showers and afternoon temperatures will reach between 18 and 22 degrees.

Tonight will stay mostly cloudy. Most areas will remain dry with mist and fog likely to develop on hills and coasts. Lowest temperatures will range from 11 to 16 degrees.

Dry for most today, with just a few isolated light showers around, mainly in the west and north🌦️.

Rather cloudy though, with just limited bright or sunny spells🌥️.

Saturday will bring a good deal of dry weather once again, though patchy drizzle and mist are expected early on, followed by scattered showers in the west. Cloud will be the dominant feature, though brighter spells are expected in the east. Temperatures will rise to between 18 and 23 degrees so still warm enough for a beach day.

Saturday night will remain mostly dry with plenty of cloud and just a little drizzle or a few isolated showers. Overnight temperatures will be mild, staying between 13 and 17 degrees.

Sunday is set to continue the mostly dry trend, with just a few well-scattered showers developing. Another cloudy day is on the cards, though brighter or sunny spells will develop in places. Temperatures will again climb to between 18 and 22 degrees.

Rain on the way

Monday looks likely to start dry for many areas with some sunshine, though cloud will thicken from the west as rain moves in later, bringing breezier conditions. Highs will reach 19 to 23 degrees but rain is likely on Monday night, with heavier bursts possible.

By Tuesday, conditions turn more unsettled, with sunshine and scattered showers, some of them heavy with the risk of thunder. Temperatures will fall back slightly, reaching between 17 and 21 degrees.

The rest of the week looks changeable, with a mix of sunshine and showers, some heavy at times with the chance of thunder. Longer spells of rain are also possible, with daytime temperatures ranging between 16 and 20 degrees.

Nights will be cooler than of late too, with lows of 9 to 13 degrees.
