Make your own tree decorations with a wood craft workshop

Always wanted to learn woodwork but don’t know where to start?
A new weekend craft class is inviting grown-ups into the workshop to learn how to make a selection of Christmas decorations from locally sourced hardwood.
Benchspace is the city studio where anyone (over 18) can try woodwork. They’ve just launched two guided ‘Benchspace Bites’ Saturday morning sessions:
- December 8th: Morning session: 9am – 1pm
- December 8th: Afternoon session: 2pm – 6pm
Both classes will guide you through the process so anyone can take part, even if you’ve never set foot in a workshop before. Along the way you will learn valuable new skills that can be applied to almost any woodwork project – plus you get to take home your cute creations to put on the tree afterwards.

It’s a brilliant mate date or couple’s activity (there’s something so soothing about working away on a little craft project for a few hours) and the workshop costs €40 with all tools and safety equipment provided.
To pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer, contact tony@benchspacecork.ie or book your session online here.
If you find you want to turn your new passion into a business, Benchspace have got your back there too; sharing the cost of equipment, rent and commercial rates significantly cuts the cost of starting a new fine furniture or woodworking business in Cork. ‘Make It Yourself’ sessions are available to seasoned woodworkers.
Full evening classes are available to book here and you can give someone the gift of a blissful afternoon in the sawdust with a voucher too.
