London’s new treehouse-themed hotel will take you back to your childhood

Planning a sneaky weekender?
London’s coolest new hotel concept is now open and it will take you right back to your childhood.
Treehouse Hotel, located in the heart of the Marylebone neighbourhood, is one of the most exciting places to stay in the UK’s capital city.
Directly across the street from the BBC Headquarters (handy for celeb spotting) the 95 rooms and 15 suites are cosy and colourful, each one designed to evoke memories of childhood clubhouses (except with organic bedding and sleeping bag throws, Nespresso machines and a bathroom full of local organic products.)
It’s all about nostalgia; every guest is presented with a Paddington Bear to care for during their stay and you’ll find Magic 8 balls, Lego, cuckoo clocks and cuddly toys in unexpected places as you explore the floors.
Rooftop cocktails
Upstairs you can enjoy reimagined Mexican cuisine at Madera at Treehouse London before taking a perch in The Nest, a rooftop bar on the 16th floor with exposed wood and branches and 360-degree skyline views of The Shard, the London Eye, Canary Wharf, and Regent’s Park.
Instagram gold.
The DJ spins the decks from a custom treehouse fort, natch, and non-guests can pop in for a visit before 8pm, with the area reserved for residents for the rest of the night.
You need never leave the building but if you insist on going out and you’re looking for something to do during your stay, Treehouse London has “fun finders” on staff to help guests pack all the best happenings.
If you’re after somewhere a little more chill after a busy day in London, Backyard is a coffee and wine bar with the feeling of an actual treehouse.
The hotel is pet-friendly too, so you can ask about the best dog parks, pet shops, and grooming salons or organise a dog sitter during your stay.
“It’s really exciting to launch our first Treehouse Hotel in one of the greatest cities in the world,” said hotel visionary, CEO & Chairman of Starwood Capital Group Barry Sternlicht. “I believe Treehouse, with its unique philosophy and playful aesthetic, will introduce a new kind of hospitality experience to the London market—fun, witty, surprising, and as much a destination for visitors as it is a local hangout.”
Rooms start at £256 (€298) per night, with a special offer of £150 restaurant credit running online at the moment here.
Nip on a Ryanair (London Gatwick, London Luton and London Stansted) or Aer Lingus (London Heathrow) flight from Cork and you could be swinging from the rafters at Treehouse in a few short hours.
