Lend a hand and get some fresh air this month at Beaumont Quarry

There’s a simple way to do something good for Cork’s wildlife this October.
Grab your outdoor gear and lend a hand at Beaumont Quarry.
Nature Network Ireland is calling on volunteers to join a community clean-up at the Beaumont Quarry Wildlife Area in Cork City on Saturday, October 10th, from 11am to 1pm.
The disused quarry might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of a wildlife sanctuary, but it has become an important home for native plants, animals and insects. The clean-up is aimed at helping protect that biodiversity and keeping the area a welcoming green space for both wildlife and people.
And it’s not all about the work. For anyone who enjoys getting outdoors, it’s a chance to spend a couple of hours in the fresh air, meet other people who care about the natural world and leave a local spot a little better than you found it.
It’s the kind of small, practical community effort that can add up – giving nature a helping hand while doing your bit for a place that belongs to everyone.
