Koko’s outrageously tasty Nutella dupe is made in Kinsale (and it’s healthier too)

Grab a spoon.
A Cork chocolatier has created a decadent chocolate spread to dollop onto desserts, devour on brioche and, let’s be honest, ladle directly into our mouths from the jar this Christmas.
Artisan chocolate makers Koko Kinsale unveiled their Handmade Chocolate Hazelnut Preserve today, a magical jar stuffed with an outrageous blend of hazelnut praline, chocolate, whole hazelnut, cocoa, Premier Cru Hazelnut Oil and cocoa butter.
The best bit? Koko’s heavenly recipe is completely free of palm oil, the farming of which is terrible for the environment and a lead cause of deforestation.
Although Nutella insist the palm oil they use in their spread is sustainable, we’d rather avoid it altogether thankyouverymuch. And if you can buy local and get an even stronger chocolate fix as a result? This is the stuff that chocoholic dreams are made of.
You can pick up your very own jar of Handmade Chocolate Hazelnut Preserve at Koko on the Pier Road, Kinsale or keep an eye out for it at upcoming Christmas craft fairs, where they’ll be selling it over the festive season.
Our advice? Buy two. The first one won’t last the night.
