Joy! Dublin dumpling restaurant Double 8 is now open in Cork

Here’s an excellent addition to the takeaway landscape.
Now you can sink your teeth into a plate of plump fresh and juicy dumplings whenever the mood take you; Dublin dumpling restaurant Double 8 has opened its first outlet on Leeside.
The popular eatery already has spots in Temple Bar, Camden Street and Mount Merrion in the capital and now you can get your fix, cooked fresh to order, on Cork’s South Main Street, where they’re be offering delivery and takeout from Captain America’s city restaurant.
The menu is short and sweet; there’s Zhu-Rhou, a pork and Chinese napa cabbage fried soup dumpling from €5.50 and the Spice Bag Gung Po Gai, Kung Po chicken wrapped in homemade spice bag seasoning – €6.
There’s also a shrimp and pork dumpling with spring onions, a vegan tofu version with fresh shitake mushrooms and a selection of tasty sides, including veggie fried rice, Dan Dan Noodles, fried Chinese peanuts and ‘Smacked Cucumber’ with chilli and beansprouts.
If you’re going all out, they even do a dessert dumpling; the Heung Jiu is filled with banana and salted caramel.
Double 8 will be open to meet all your dumpling demands from Monday to Thursday (5pm – 10pm) and Friday to Sunday (3pm – 10pm). Check out the menu here after 5pm.
