Inside O’Súilleabháin’s, the cosiest new pub on Washington Street

Need an excuse for a quiet pint?
A brand new pub opened this week on Washington Street and if you like all things traditional, you’ll appreciate the vibe.
O’Súilleabháin’s takes over an address where many pubs have stood for over 100 years, most recently Preachers. Now with fresh wallpaper, leather topped seats and stools, wood panelling, comfortable booths and candlelit tables, it’s ready for a new wave of regulars.

“We wanted to create a pub where people could once again dive in from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax with great drinks, chats and cosy vibes.” Manager Kaja Tomczak told Yay Cork.
“The pub itself is an homage to all things Cork and we spent months sourcing Cork old images and memorabilia from around the world. We also sourced a lot of Murphys and Beamish memorabilia from as far away as the USA and France.”

O’Súilleabháin’s even has a small library, featuring books of images, stories and poetry from Cork, so people can relax with a drink, chat or just enjoy the great history of the city.
