In Ballyvourney, a brewery is making free surface sanitiser for health workers

Cheers to them.
As the Covid-19 crisis continues, Ballyvourney’s 9 White Deer Brewery has stepped up to offer free surface sanitiser to anyone in a ‘health department agency, hospital or care home’ or anyone who cannot find it elsewhere.
Nestled in the heart of the Muskerry Gaeltacht, the company is run by Gordon Lucey and Don O’Leary, who are usually busy using Irish ingredients to make a range of tasty ales, lagers and stouts, all brewed, bottled and kegged in West Cork.
Following the lead of Irish Distillers, Clonakilty Distillery and West Cork Distillery, 9 White Deer is rowing in to do what they can to help limit the spread of coronavirus.
In a recent Facebook post, Gordon stressed that their peracetic acid solution is a surface sanitiser only. It works to kill viruses on worktops, door handles and other surfaces by spraying, letting it sit for 3-5 minutes and then wiping away.
The company has also urged people to continue to follow the guidelines for using soap and water and sanitising gel for hand hygiene.
How can I get it?
Bring your own empty bottle or container to 9 White Deer Brewery, where they will have a twenty-litre drum with a dispenser pump set up, and they will fill it for you.
Gordon also asked that anyone in need of a larger volume of the surface sanitizer contact him directly at brewery@9whitedeer.ie or by text on 086 8061313.
