It’s a one-stop shop for a new look.
If you’re in the market for a hipster haircut and some new pieces to update your wardrobe for 2022, Ballinlough barbershop ACRNYM is a handy place to start.
Opened in 2021 by Cork barber Ronan Dwane, ACRNYM quickly found a loyal local customer base.
Now Ronan and his mate Rob Twomey are kicking off the New Year with a new concept for Cork, adding a selection of vintage and high-end clothing for their customers to browse during their hair appointments.

The creative duo met on the Greek party island of Ios, Greece four years ago and bonded over their shared interests in music, fashion and more creative pursuits like photography and art.
“The clothing aspect of the studio is our re-imagination of the traditional barber lounge space, where once men would come to chat and hang out, maybe share a beer and relax,” Rob told Yay Cork.
“We are constantly trying to handpick pieces that we feel people will like just as much as we do. At present we have brands like Stone Island, Carharrt, Weekday, Cos, Arket, Nike, and Adidas in store.
“I try to pick up one-off or limited pieces from the US and Asia when I can. We sell t-shirts from €15 all the way to €45 and have a lot of jeans for €40-50 at the minute, some of the more expensive pieces are up for between €150-€200 so there is something for everyone in ACRNYM.”
With the new year off to a cracking start, there are more creative plans in the works too, including a podcast and YouTube channel that will be recorded after hours in the studio.
“We want to focus the podcast on something we are both very passionate about; music,” adds Rob.
“Our aim is to start putting out biweekly features of albums that we will listen to in their entirety and give our two cents on.”
Appointments can be made through the Booksy app and you can shop the range in-store or on Depop @ACRNYMSTUDIOS.
