Got the bones of a play scribbled on a napkin?

Whether you’ve had a go at playwriting before or it’s something you’ve always fancied trying, Cork Arts Theatre is inviting you to submit your work for its brilliant 10×10 Minute Play Event.

All submissions will be read by a panel of readers and a shortlist of 10 plays will be selected to be staged during a week of performance later this year.

Plays should be no more than 10 minutes in duration and should have a simple setting with minimal props and furniture. Other than that, all genres are welcome, from comedy and tragedy to farce, fantasy and horror.

“This event has been running since 2010 and has continually surpassed all the expectations we had when we began.” said James Horgan, event co-ordinator for the Cork Arts Theatre.

“That success is a result of the combined talents of numerous writers, directors, performers, and crew who work as a team to bring these exciting and entertaining new works to the stage. We are really looking forward to creating something special with that community of artists again this year.”

Plays must be submitted by Friday, September 2nd, 2022 and should be sent as a Word document or PDF to: [email protected] with the subject line 10×10 Submission 2022.
